Recently, traces of the national first-class protected animal white-lipped deer have been found on the plateau meadow at an altitude of 4,700 meters in Gangba County, Xigaze, Xizang. The white-lipped deer gets its name from the circle of white hair around its lower lip and snout.

It is an alpine deer species unique to the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau, resistant to severe cold and hypoxia, and often inhabits and forages in high-altitude areas.
